Darren has enjoyed coding since learning how to program in BASIC on his first Acorn Electron computer. Since then, he’s taught himself Ruby and JavaScript and is the author of JavaScript: Novice to Ninja and Jump Start Sinatra. He also produced the Getting Started With Ruby video tutorials for SitePoint Premium and has written a number of articles on the SitePoint website. He was born in the city of Manchester in the UK, where he still lives, and he teaches Mathematics and Computing at a local high school.

sitepoint seams to have a huge collections learning materials. So far I'm impressed with the number of lessons I have worked on.
A really great intro to programming and a great place to start learning some JavaScript. Darren makes this book easy to read and get some great value from.
This book is one of kind, I admire the simple and succint manner Darren approached the subject of programming and demystified Javascript in particular. i recommend this book for all computer science student and all programmers in general
I enjoyed practicing numerous challenges in Darren's book. The examples are very detailed. I got to learn the basic concepts of Javascript in 16 chapters. I definitely recommend it as your first resource for vanilla JS.
This books is great. I am not feeling overwhelmed, and at the same time I am feeling like I am learning a lot in a short span of time. I love that there are actual code examples for everything..code that I can see, edit, play with and learn with by DOING! Great job Darren! Great job Sitepoint!
